Caffe greenhaus

A small pet-project involving a logo for a fictitious cafe located inside a greenhouse. For the final outcome I intended to replicate the style of Italian typography and design from the 1950s, and I found that a lot of cafe logo designs for the time utilised warm yet muted colours and made stylistic use of negative space.

I felt that a muted green best matched the imagery of a greenhouse, and I encased the relevant text in a simple silhouette resembling one, filling in the two E’s to create an umlaut above the U. I picked a matching deep muted brown to compliment the green, as well as making the circle slightly off-centre to make the right side hang down, making the resulting design more dynamic.
